There are many differences between living at home and in the dormitory. A lot of people living at home with their family, but some people should live in the dormitory because of the work. I am one of the students of this population, so I have some ideas about the differences between living at home and in the dormitory. The main differences between living in the dormitory and living at home are cost and privacy. First, the family have to pay extra expenses of rents, it is not a small cost a year if the family's finances is tight. Second, mother will cook three meals for family, but living in the dormitory, you should prepare three meals by yourself. It is very inconvenient and it is also another expense. The other difference is privacy, I have to live with other people in the dormitory, which means you do not have privacy. For example, if you want to have a phone call to your boyfriend, it will be heard by other roommates. Contrary to living in the dormitory, I have my own space at home. As it is a social life, you should think about other people's lifestyles habits because you can not just consider yourself.

On the other hands, there have some advantages of living in the dormitory. For instance, you can go to KTV or play bowling with friends at midnight, unlike at home, you should go home before 12 o'clock, or your parents will blame you. Furthermore, you can make friends with your roommates. If you have some trouble, you can discuss with them; if you feel bored on the weekend, you can go shopping with them.
